Movies, Mentors, Innocence and Wealth

Spoiler alert! A bit of this involves the movie Snow White and the Huntsman, so you may wish to see the movie first if you’re like me and hate any hint of spoilers….

I was talking to an old money work mentor of mine I hadn’t spoken to in years. He was doing well, and had just downsized to an apartment, from their home in Portland. All was good with he and his wife, though his sense of the economy was not so good. Deflation is coming he thinks. The unrealistic curtain in this country provided by the Federal Reserve would not long shield us from the similar unraveling going on in Europe. He felt the only safe investment now is money markets – not even bonds.

The conversation was unsettling. I don’t pretend to be an investment expert or speak to that type of money management. It does seem that a whole lot of shakin’ is going on, and will go on, as the old money paradigm shifts into the as yet unknown future of the new paradigm money/energy exchange. It’s easy to feel nervous and powerless when you hear money discussions like this.

TIME FOR A MOVIE

I forget how much I like the big screen until I make it out of the cave and into a theater every few months. Snow White and the Huntsman was a timely foray. Feeling powerless in the face of the state of global money health – hey, that’s nothing compared to Snow White’s imprisonment and victimization by the Evil Queen and her bro. Talk about an unhappy childhood! And she wasn’t the only victim. The whole kingdom, both the folks and the fauna, all lived under the EQ’s spell of darkness.

It had gone on so long – some decade or more – that hearts were hopeless, and joy and light were distant memories. The sense of what was possible had shrunk to a shadow of it’s former self.

In the real world, you can feel a similar despair when the old money paradigm based on misuse of power has got you down. Creating business success with soul gift expression can at times feel like a battle with an evil and powerful queen. The history of the darkness’ hold can make you think twice about taking inspired action and putting yourself out there.

THE ODDS WERE AGAINST THEM, OR SO IT SEEMED

Snow White did not have military training, just as you may not feel like a whiz when it comes to strategizing the best money measures in the face of economic uncertainty. The Queen’s powers seemed invincible, and there didn’t seem to be any way to fight her – defiance was met with death, and dear loved ones disappeared. Risks re: soul gift expression and wealth creation perhaps can pale in comparison – yet it also feels like a lot is at stake when you bare your heart and soul in authentic expression that is connected to generating abundant income.

Snow White had a secret weapon. I’m thrilled to say, that you have it too. Now this secret weapon may seem small compared to the current options available to fight wars. But in the spiritual army zone, it has no equal.

Snow White had a pure and innocent heart. Sure, she had discouraging moments (the inner Doubt Diva spares no one). But each success strengthened her. Finally something pissed her off enough that she could commit 100% to standing in her power, standing up for her kingdom and subjects.

When she spoke to her formerly depressed and hopeless tribe, their hope was rekindled, and they rose to fight the battle. The Evil Queen’s spell and the old paradigm was shattered. Against all odds, they rode to victory.

TRUST YOUR HEART; HONOR YOUR SOUL MISSION

At times it may feel like the global economy or the crazy times are as insurmountable as an Evil Queen who’s got you by the cajones. Your own money cycles may feel like you’re under siege, or jailed, with no key in sight. You can look at retirement statistics or the nature of the power structures like the Fed and wonder how this mess will ever be healed. You can get frozen and discouraged when a lush income from soul gift expression seems like a joke or a impossible dream.

Yet not only in fairy tales does the awesome power of your soul mission and the beauty of your pure and innocent heart make a difference. The stats don’t get the final say in this careening human stage – winning against gigantic odds happens quite often. Yes, you need a few things besides heart and soul to succeed. Yet the gift of a caring, pure and innocent heart will transform this world. Snow White reminds us to honor this power, and use it well.

My best to your pure heart,

Denise Barnes
